Service and sisterhood have been the foundation of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® since its establishment in 1908. Under the theme Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood, the 2022-2026 administration is dedicated to advancing the Sorority’s legacy by mobilizing over 120,000 active members to lead in advocacy, education, and transformative change.

This administration is guided by six key initiatives. Strengthen Our Sisterhood serves as the “Foundation Initiative,” reinforcing our bonds to enhance our collective impact.

The remaining five initiatives, known as the Program Initiatives, are designed to enhance the well-being of the individuals and communities we support.​​

For over a century, our sisterhood has been the driving force behind Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s unwavering commitment to making a meaningful impact in our communities, states, nation, and the world.

With purpose and intention, we will cultivate fellowship and foster lifelong bonds rooted in affinity, love, trust, respect, and shared aspirations—all while strengthening our foundation of service to others.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority has a longstanding tradition of uplifting and serving families, recognizing that strong families are the cornerstone of thriving communities.

Through a multi-generational approach, we are committed to strengthening families by addressing child hunger, fostering positive youth development and leadership, supporting mental well-being, and enhancing the quality of life for seniors. Additionally, we will provide essential meals to children in need as part of our charitable efforts.

By implementing targeted strategies, we will maximize our collective impact to protect and enhance the environment on a larger scale. Our efforts will focus on promoting sustainable and responsible practices, sponsoring workshops and seminars, and empowering individuals and communities to adopt eco-friendly habits that reduce household waste.

Social Justice
Advocate for
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority has always been a champion of social justice, advocating for fairness and equity. We stand as a force for empowerment, working to uplift communities through meaningful advocacy and action.

We will provide communities with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to amplify their voices and drive change. This includes sharing information on African American and other women of color in political leadership and creating pathways for those aspiring to enter politics.
​
Additionally, we will host public policy forums to foster discussions on social justice, political engagement, and strategies for active participation.
